Amps & More is a repair center for music, DJ, and sound equipment located in Westminster, MD. We are also an authorized installer for Mercury Magnetics products.
Q: What kind of stuff do you repair?
A: Just about anything - amplifiers, speaker cabinets, turntables, lighting (and controls), mixing boards, DJ equipment, stomp boxes, and even fog machines. Don't see your music/DJ/sound-related item on this list? Just call us, we probably fix it. We can also repair and set up your electric guitars and bass guitars. We even fix electric fence controllers and electronic scoreboards! After all, we are Amps & MORE.
Q: Do you offer a warranty on your repairs?
A: The shop warranty is 90 days from the date of the repair. This warranty covers parts and labor and any additional parts that may need to be ordered. Warranty does not cover misuse or abuse. Customers sending units for warranty work under the shop warranty need to send a copy of their original repair receipt.
Q: My item is still under warranty from the manufacturer. Can you repair it?
A: Maybe. Please check out our Warranty Work page for more info.
Q: I have an extended warranty from a store. Can you repair my item?
A: Please contact the box store where you purchased the item or call the 800 number for the extended warranty. You may need to take the item back to the store or follow the process required by the company that offered the extended warranty. We are approved for work on N.E.W. warranties, and you can request our shop when you talk with N.E.W.
Q: What does it cost for you to figure out what's wrong with my amp?
A: A typical diagnostic fee is $35. If a repair is able to be made, that $35 is credited to the total cost of the repair. If no repair is made, labor intensive diagnostics may still require a $35 payment. This will be addressed on a case by case basis BEFORE the diagnostic is completed. Just bring your stuff in or give us a call, and we'll discuss the options.
Q: What are your labor rates?
A: *The minimum labor fee is $65. However, this business was built on taking care of customers and offering fair prices. Simply contact us, and we will do our best to work within your budget. Our goal is to keep you talking about how great we took care of you and your sound equipment.
*This fee does not apply to many smaller items such as stomp boxes.
Q: I need my repair done in a hurry, how can we make that happen?
A: Typical turnaround time is anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on the season. Expedited repairs are offered on a case by case basis. If available, Overnight or Same Day repairs will be subject to an additional charge of $50. If parts are being ordered, you, the customer, can request an upgrade to overnight shipping. This cost will be added to the total cost of the repair.
